Planar active waveguides were produced in lithium fluoride crystals by implantation with 1.5 MeV He+ ions at several doses. The colored samples have been characterized by optical absorption, photoluminescence and m-line spectroscopy. By comparing the measured guided-mode effective indices with the ones calculated by means of the Chandler–Lama approach, the depth profile of refractive index was derived, showing that there are two competitive physical mechanisms, associated with different processes of energy deposition along the ion track, responsible for positive and negative modifications of the refractive index in the irradiated volume. 相似文献

In this work, mass transfer at the shell side of an in-line hollow fiber array subjected to cross-flow is simulated by applying the domain decomposition method combined with orthogonal grid generation. Two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations written in stream function-vorticity variables, were separately solved along with a species conservation equation for different arrays. The main factors influencing the concentration fields, local mass transfer rates and global mass transfer rates in the laminar flow of Re=10-200 and Pe=10-300 with pitch to tube diameter ratios of 1.45, 1.50, 1.75, 1.85 and 2.00 are discussed in detail. Mass transfer correlations obtained from the numerical simulations show good agreement with typical empirical correlations proposed earlier. 相似文献

Indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes modified chemically with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) of C60-perylenetetracarboxylic diimide-C60 triad have been designed for the first time to act as an efficient light-to-current converter in molecular devices. The monolayers were characterized using UV-Vis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy. Photoelectrochemical measurement of the SAMs of C60-Perylenetetracarboxylic diimide-C60/ITO indicated prompt, steady, and reproducible photocurrent generation when irradiated by white light. 相似文献

The mark tracking method is a simple and efficient technique for a local strain measurement. We show the possibilities of the mark tracking for field measurement. We present a procedure which allows us to experimentally characterise this technique depending on the sensor and the marks' dimensions. The method presented is insensitive to illumination variation and to in-plane rotation of the specimen. The strain values are obtained by analysis of four marks. In order to obtain a displacement field, we analyse a series of small groups of spots. With the help of an average of the parameters (using a series of initial images), we suppress the systematic error that we can observe when we use a method comparing an initial state to a deformed one. So the strain uncertainty becomes less that 0.0002 for a local study and 0.002 for a whole field study (measurement base 20×20 pixel2). 相似文献

The paper addresses the topic of long-haul optical networking for the provision of large-bandwidth IP services. A class of optical packet switching architectures is considered which adopts an arrayed wavelength grating device as packet router. The architecture performs slotted packet switching operations and fully exploits the wavelength routing capabilities by allowing multi-wavelength switching. Fiber delay lines are used to perform optical packet buffering, which accomplishes either input queueing or shared queueing. This paper investigates the problem of dynamic survivable lightpath provisioning against single-node/link failures in optical mesh networks employing wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM).We unify various forms of segment protection into generalized segment protection (GSP). In GSP, the working path of a lightpath is divided into multiple overlapping working segments, each of which is protected by a node-/link-disjoint backup segment. We design an efficient heuristic which, upon the arrival of a lightpath request, dynamically divides a judiciously selected working path into multiple overlapping working segments and computes a backup segment for each working segment while accommodating backup sharing. Compared to the widely considered shared-path protection scheme, GSP achieves much lower blocking probability and shorter protection-switching time for a small sacrifice in control and management overhead.On the basis of generalized segment protection, we present a new approach to provisioning lightpath requests according to their differentiated quality-of-protection (QoP) requirements. We focus on one of the most important QoP parameters—namely, protection-switching time—since lightpath requests may have differentiated protection-switching-time requirements. For example, lightpaths carrying voice traffic may require 50 ms protection-switching time while lightpaths carrying data traffic may have a wide range of protection-switching-time requirements. Numerical results show that our approach achieves significant performance gain which leads to a remarkable reduction in blocking probability.While our focus is on the optical WDM network, the basic ideas of our approaches can be applied to multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) networks with appropriate adjustments, e.g., differentiated bandwidth granularities. 相似文献
